About NCS SubSea History

About NCS NCS SubSea is a premier provider of survey, navigation, positioning, and ultrahigh-resolution (UHR) 2D/3D/4D marine seismic services to the offshore E&P industry. Based in Stafford, Texas, NCS SubSea was incorporated in November 2004 and executed its first commercial project in January 2005.

2016

NCS SubSea acquires P-Cable A/S of Norway, expanding our expertise and opportunities in the UHR marine seismic market. NCS SubSea continues to develop the FreeCable Integrated Navigation System (INS) for Kietta.

2015

NCS SubSea undergoes rebranding effort with a new company logo and modernized website.

2014

SAFE-BAND Phase 1 UHR3D survey successfully executed. Extremely active season in Alaska (Cook Inlet and North Slope) supporting transition zone surveys. NCS SubSea assigns dedicated Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE) Manager tasked with implementing a comprehensive revamp of the company’s quality, health, safety, and environment program in conformance with International Association of Geophysical Contractors (IAGC) and International Association of Oil and Gas Producers (IOGP) standards.

2013

OYO Corporation USA acquires NCS SubSea.

2012

NCS SubSea is granted patents on its NavPoint Trawler software, designed specifically for UHR3D P-Cable surveys. Secured multi-year commitments for our transition zone distributed navigation systems.

2011

NCS SubSea completes first multi-vessel 3D streamer survey. NCS SubSea completes UHR3D survey and first P-Cable survey with NavPoint Trawler solution.

2010

As part of our commitment to local communities, NCS SubSea is now a proud participant in the World Vision Child Sponsorship program. Our first sponsorship is in Bangladesh and we are looking forward to being able to extend this commitment in the future to other areas in which we operate. NCS SubSea executes full 3D-navigation upgrade on an established marine seismic vessel. Successful completions of conventional 3D survey.

2009

Developed SourcePoint Differential Global Positioning Systems (DGPS) source and tailbuoy positioning systems. Invested in Sonardyne Scout systems to boost survey positioning efficiency. Partnered with Photon Factory as operators of their IC3D software.

2008

Relocated our headquarters to current facility in Stafford, TX with expanded office space, labs, processing areas, warehouses and training rooms.

2007

Agreement to be the North American distributor for FGPS International Ltd products.

2006

Secured multi-year commitments for our transition zone distributed navigation system. Secured multi-year commitments for our 2D streamer navigation systems. Secured multi-vessel commitments for our anchor-handling navigation systems.

2005

Moved to a spacious facility in Stafford, TX, consisting of offices, instrument lab, processing area and warehouse. Developed, provided and operated our first transition zone distributed navigation system, our first 2D streamer navigation system, and our first anchor-handling navigation system.
