About NCS SubSea
NCS SubSea (NCS) is the premier provider of ultrahigh resolution (UHR) 2D/3D/4D marine seismic surveys and seismic support services to the offshore E&P industry. Our UHR marine seismic surveys yield incredibly detailed imaging for exploration and appraisal, geohazard, field development and reservoir monitoring. The ultrahigh resolution marine acquisition system allows clients to quantify and reduce risk; evaluate potential new or bypassed reservoirs; and monitor changes in reservoir characteristics over time. This, coupled with industry-leading navigational accuracy, produces unprecedented detail and marine seismic resolution on the scale of only a few meters.
Our seismic support services deliver incredibly precise and reliable navigation and positioning data to offshore operators. Whether a project requires marine seismic streamers, OBC/OBN or VSP/DAS, we can provide the crew, equipment, software and expertise to obtain accurate navigation data, anywhere in the world and in a cost-effective way. NCS SubSea plans and executes complex marine seismic projects in a variety of configurations across the globe including offshore Europe, Africa, Asia Pacific, Middle-East, and North and South America.
About P-Cable UHR3D Technology
NCS SubSea completed its first P-Cable seismic survey in 2014 and subsequently acquired P-Cable 3D Seismic AS, the inventor of P-Cable technology, in 2016. The P-Cable concept was first tested in 2001 and in 2004, when the first prototype system, led by Sverre Planke and Christian Berndt, was built by National Oceanography Centre in Southampton, England.
In 2007, P-Cable 3D Seismic AS had a joint industry project with Hydro/Statoil to build a fully digital system. The system was tested and proven in 2007 and the first commercial survey was undertaken in 2009. In 2010, P-Cable 3D Seismic AS, in partnership with Geometrics Inc, launched the next-generation system, which was the basis of the current commercial P-Cable systems. Over the years, partnerships have formed with several other companies and institutions to commercialize P-Cable technology and develop it into the revolutionary technology NCS SubSea uses today.
Value Proposition, Vision and Mission
Value Proposition
Reduce Risk, Reveal Opportunity
Our focus is to help offshore operators reduce risk by minimizing and quantifying uncertainty, and also to reveal both challenges (seafloor and subsurface geohazards) and opportunities through our ultrahigh resolution (UHR) 2D/3D/4D marine seismic services.
Vision
Lead the Resolution Revolution
Our vision is to create a dynamic, innovative organization that sets the industry standard for ultrahigh resolution marine seismic and specialized offshore navigation services. We will lead the industry by providing products and services that meet or exceed our client’s expectations in terms of quality, safety, reliability, efficiency, timeliness, and environmental and resource stewardship.
Mission
Innovate and Illuminate
Our mission is to design, develop and implement cost-effective seismic support services and ultrahigh resolution seismic solutions for the offshore E&P industry. Achieving this mission requires balancing the demands of superior quality with timely delivery, while simultaneously managing the risks inherent in the activities we perform.

NCS SubSea Offshore Team
At NCS SubSea, members of the offshore team are our greatest asset. Nearly every crew member on nearly every job is a full-time NCS employee. NCS takes pride in retaining excellent talent throughout industry ups and downs, our collective experience and cross-team collaboration are our differentiators.
Each member of our offshore team attends a full-day orientation followed by BOSIET certification to complement their capabilities in acquisition, navigation and hydrographic equipment. On average, our offshore crew has 12 years of experience and over 80 hours of industry and specialized training. Crew members are expected to maintain their technical proficiency with the latest advancements in hardware and software systems including Concept Systems and FGPS who provide navigation data acquisition and processing applications for our projects.
NCS SubSea Support Team
Members of our support team collectively possess wide-ranging industry know-how born from years of experience in their respective fields. From leadership to strategy and finance to operations, we aim to ensure our offshore and support teams collaborate both effectively and efficiently thereby exceeding our client’s expectations on every project.
OYO Corporation / Group of Companies
NCS SubSea | P-Cable joined the OYO Group of Companies in 2013. Tokyo-based parent company, OYO Corporation known as “Doctor to the Earth,” is an industry-leading geoscience and geoengineering firm committed to creating a safe, sustainable and secure future for mankind through the application of geologic science and technology. The strong financial backing of the OYO Group, coupled with our unmatched technology and personnel, helped transform our organization into a fully-integrated provider of ultrahigh-resolution (UHR) 2D/3D/4D marine seismic surveys and seismic support services.

The Collaborators
Over the past years, we have successfully collaborated with many academic institutions and industry partners to develop the P-Cable technology and deliver high-end data for both research and commercial use. These collaborations have been an important factor in the success of the technology.
